Methodology
Our ranking methodology is based on the international QS ranking system. The EdNet ranking uses the following criteria:
1. Academic Reputation: An indicator based on surveys of faculty members and researchers. This criterion reflects the academic community's opinion on the quality of teaching and research at a university. To ensure objectivity, a comprehensive survey of 1,000 faculty members is conducted, allowing for an accurate assessment of the level of academic expertise and teaching performance at the institution.
2. Employer Reputation: An indicator based on surveys of employers regarding the quality of graduates. Employers assess how well-prepared graduates are for employment in their companies. Importantly, this data is collected through surveys of 500 employers who provide feedback on graduates' professional performance and readiness to work in real-world environments.
3. Educational Environment: The quality of teaching is measured by a combination of indicators such as the student-to-faculty ratio, the number of full-time faculty members, the proportion of faculty with academic degrees and titles, the availability of laboratories, textbooks, computer classrooms, faculty salary levels, and more.
4. Number of Publications in Scopus: This criterion evaluates the quantity and quality of scientific publications and their citation in academic journals. It reflects how actively the university participates in research and how its work contributes to global science. For more accurate analysis, data is collected on universities’ publication activity and citations in international scientific publications.
5. H-Index (Hirsch Index): The Hirsch Index is a metric used to measure both the productivity and impact of a faculty member or department within a university. It is based on a scholar’s most cited works and the number of citations they have received in other publications. The total score for this criterion includes the overall H-Index for the academic field at a given university, as well as the H-Index of the 10 most productive faculty members in that field. This criterion undergoes rigorous verification.
6. International Research Networks (by broad faculty areas):
This indicator includes the number of international students and faculty members, as well as participation in international research projects. It reflects how open the university is to global exchange and collaboration—an important factor for students seeking international educational and career opportunities.
In addition, to ensure the accuracy and objectivity of all indicators, participating universities complete institutional surveys / questionnaires. This allows for a more detailed analysis of internal processes and the implementation of educational standards at each institution. Combined, all of this data helps to form the most accurate and objective understanding of the quality of education at each university included in the ranking
